The Flat White List
A field guide to the flat white
The Flat White List is a world map of cafés that pour a proper flat white: a short, strong double shot under a thin layer of silky microfoam. It needs JavaScript to draw the map, so here is what it holds.
How a café gets on the list
- 4.5★ or better, from at least 100 Google reviews, so one good week can't carry a place. Chains are left out.
- Evidence it pours a flat white: a Google review names the drink, Google returns the café for a "flat white" search in that suburb, or a regular vouches for it.
What you can do with it
- See the ten cafés closest to you, ranked by distance.
- Open directions or the Google reviews for any café in a tap.
- Search by city, café or neighbourhood, and save the ones you like.
- Add it to your home screen and use it like an app.
